XGauze® Trauma Dressing

XGauze® Trauma Dressing uses the same compressed mini-sponge
technology as the revolutionary XSTAT product line. XGAUZE is a Z-Fold
dressing embedded with over 120 compressed mini-cellulose sponges. Unlike
traditional gauze products that just absorb fluid, XGAUZE both absorbs and
expands up to 10X its size upon contact with blood or exudate.

Problem
Uncontrolled hemorrhage remains an enormous
challenge facing emergency medical professionals
• Military responders routinely pack deep wounds with
multiple rolls of standard or hemostatic gauze, then
apply several minutes of external pressure to stop
bleeding
• In civilian EMS, little use of wound packing- they simply
apply external pressure
• Application of direct pressure to these wounds is
generally ineffective owing to skeletal obstruction, vessel
anatomy, and depth of injury
